Welcome to the Rainbow Region Dragon Boat Club!
The Northern Rivers of NSW between the Clarence and Tweed Rivers is known as the Rainbow Region due to its many vibrant, amazing and brilliant rainbows. The Rainbow Region Dragon Boat Club paddles dragon boats and outrigger canoes at Lennox Head and Ballina NSW. Paddlers join us from across the Northern Rivers - from Ocean Shores, Byron Bay, Lennox Head, Ballina, Casino, Lismore, Kyogle and all locations in between.
Rainbow Region Dragon Boat Club (RRDBC) was formed in 2009 and is a vibrant, competitive club for all ages and genders. Originally a dragon boat paddling club for breast cancer survivors, Rainbow Dragons Abreast was the founding group. However, the interest in dragon boat paddling has broadened over the years and RRDBC was born to include men and women of all ages, fitness levels and sporting ability. More information on the club’s history and Rainbow Dragons Abreast (RDA) can be found here.
We pride ourselves on being a competitive and inclusive paddling club for all ages and genders. If you love a challenge, come along and give dragon boating a try. Enjoy the friendly rivalry and camaraderie at local regattas, regional, State and National competitions. Competing is optional, however regular paddling will increase your fitness and provide a great avenue for fun and friendship. Many of our paddlers enjoy opportunities to travel overseas to regattas such as those in China, Canada, Italy, France and New Zealand for example.
